Multipurpose Meter in One Convenient Device
The Extech EX820 offers multiple functions so service technicians can carry one meter into the field instead of several. The EX820 will measure AC current, AC/DC voltage, frequency, resistance, capacitance, diode, and continuity. Its wide-opening, 1-7/10-inch circular jaw fits around conductors up to 750 MCM, or two 500 MCM. This Extech also features min/max, data, and peak hold of current surges during motor startup and other transience that "freezes" data in the display. Additionally, there is autoranging with manual override.

True RMS Prevents Distortion from Electronic Devices
It can be very difficult to make accurate current and voltage readings in industrial and commercial applications when electronic devices are present. Fluorescent lights, motor drives, computer power supplies, and other electronic systems can distort the AC waveform, making it hard for averaging meters to get an accurate read.
