Multipurpose Meter in One Convenient DeviceThe Extech EX820 offers multiple functions so service technicians can carry one meter into the field instead of several. The EX820 will measure AC current, AC/DC voltage, frequency, resistance, capacitance, diode, and continuity. Its wide-opening, 1-7/10-inch circular jaw fits around conductors up to 750 MCM, or two 500 MCM. This Extech also features min/max, data, and peak hold of current surges during motor startup and other transience that "freezes" data in the display. Additionally, there is autoranging with manual override.
True RMS Prevents Distortion from Electronic Devices
It can be very difficult to make accurate current and voltage readings in industrial and commercial applications when electronic devices are present. Fluorescent lights, motor drives, computer power supplies, and other electronic systems can distort the AC waveform, making it hard for averaging meters to get an accurate read. True RMS uses a more advanced formula to compensate for this kind of distortion.
Built-In, Non-Contact Infrared Thermometer

The thermometer has an eight-to-one distance to target ratio, allowing measurements in areas that are normally difficult or unsafe to reach.
Type K Bead Wire Probe Measures Temperature
The included Type K bead wire probe allows you to take temperature readings inside air conditioners, refrigerators, motors, bearings, pumps, and many other devices that emit heat. Temperatures can be measured from -4 to 1,400 degrees Fahrenheit (-20 to 760 degrees Celsius).

Readings on the EX820 are easy to see on the large, 4,000-count, backlit LCD display. For added convenience, it also features an auto power-off to preserve your batteries.
